One Woman's Routine
She is not high maintenance. Doesn't spend an hour getting ready. She isn't caked with make-up and hair-spray (she's rather natural looking). Now, having clarified that, for your interest read on for a sneak peek at one woman's morning routine... AND... all of this takes around about 20 minutes.
Weekdays
In the Shower
- Shampoo hair
- Use face scrub
- Use face foam wash
- Brush teeth
- Shave (legs/under arms as required) - I sit on the floor of the shower to do this... some people apparently find this icky (obviously they don't clean their bathrooms too often) but I don't have an issue with it).
- Scrub and Exfoliate Feet (if shaving)
- Soap using Antibacterial/Antibiotic soap
- Soap using lathering creamy nice smelling soap - mostly because I like the feel and smell of it
- Condition Hair (leave for 5 minutes)
- Attach body glove (there's an art of twisting and tucking)
- Use body exfoliate with glove on one half of my body
- Change body glove to other hand
- Use body exfoliate with glove on other half of my body
- Use shower body moisturiser with glove on other half of my body
- Change body glove to other hand
- Use shower body moisturiser with glove on one half of my body
- Rinse hair and body
- get out of shower
Post Shower
- Put on a special hair towell
- Apply deodorant
- Apply Impulse Deodorant
- Apply Perfume
- Apply Eye Cream - I don't want grey marks under my eyes, I'm prone you know!
- Face gel moisturiser
- Palmers Body Moisturiser
- Hair Conditioner Spray
- Style Hair
- Hairspray
- Put on Make Up
Weekends
It depends on what I am doing, where I'm going, who I am seeing but I usually miss steps 1, 5, 6, 9,11,13 from Shower routine and miss steps 3, 4, 5, 10 of the post shower routine. I prefer the rock star chic look mangy hair, ponytails, and bare skin.

Weekdays
In the Shower (part 1 - pre-swimming)
- Spray leave-in conditioner on hair and comb through.
- Brush teeth.
- Wash essential parts with soap (to make me acceptable to swim in a public pool)
- Quickly shave. I usually stand up in the dark to do this. Not because I don't want to sit on the floor, just because I do a rush job of it. I prefer blunt blades (on weekends I use sharp ones sitting in the bath).
- Get out of shower and dry off worst of drips.
Post Shower (at home)
- Iron shirt while I drip dry and while nice man starts breakfast going.
- Get dressed.
- Help finish getting brekkie ready.
- Eat breakfast, then walk fast to make the train.
- Go to swimming pool (change to bathers, swim for 30-40 minutes).
In the Shower (part 2 - post-swimming)
- Hope fervently that there isn't anyone else likely to be waiting around for the shower.
- Wash hair.
- Rinse bathers.
- Only if there's no-one waiting: quickly run conditioner through hair.
- Soap up with bubbly stuff provided by gym, rinse it off.
Post Shower (at gym)
- Dry off.
- Dry hair.
- Add a leave-in conditioner if I didn't condition hair while in shower.
- Get dressed.
- Walk fast to get to work on time.
Weekends
Take bloody ages in the shower just because I can. Depending on my mood, requirements I may:
- Set a colour/conditioner in my hair for 20 minutes (to make up for the colour stripped by chlorine during the week).
- Leave a deep conditioner in my hair for 20 minutes.
- Scrub, exfoliate and moisturise feet.
- Shave properly (sitting in the bath using a sharp blade).
- Wash using masses of fruity shower gel stuff.
- Sit around in the bath for yonks and do a manicure and/or pedicure.
