Getting healthier: week 4

Christmas Break: 24-31 Dec 04

Blah blah blah... family (four of them stayed with me), friends (mostly visits), gardening (breaking/sawing/burning pruned branches and gaining lots of bruises and cuts in process), reading, sleeping, not looking at a computer.

Day 23 : Sunday, 19 December 2004

The day was taken up with sleep, coffee and hanging out with a friend (who can't stop smiling) and then vid's with the TH and another friend. I *almost* started that sentence with 'the day was wasted' but considering it was relaxing and enjoyable I can hardly call it a waste, can I?

Day 22 : Saturday, 18 December 2004

My cousin drove down from Melbourne and we went for a swim when she got here :) (ok, so she was coming to Adelaide anyway). Pool was quite crowded due to being a hot day and it seemed there were lots of illiterate people as they did not seem to be able to read which lanes were for free swimming and which were for laps. Better to think them illiterate than ignorant and lacking common decency. Then there was the 60ish guy throwing hot chips in the diving pool at his son/grandson/whatever. What a tosser. Swim was very refreshing, but frustrating trying to do laps as people were just sitting about mid lane.

notes

I will keep a bit of a tally as to how much value I'm getting from my membership. The tally is based on the equivalent I would have spent if paying for each visit individually. In doing this I am using the per visit casual visit fee for either pool area or classes (classes include pool area) by comparing this to the total membership fees spent to date.

A running tally is noted at the bottom of each day as:
[$ equivalent of casual entry fees I would have spent to date / $ total membership purchased up to date].

I will note costs for alternative forms of exercise separately as I'm kind of intrigued to see how much this getting fit and healthier ends up costing me over all. Of course, I could get fit for free but it's easier to motivate myself when I have paid for equipment/membership/whatever.
