and from a website..

yeah, yeah... so what if I didn't technically receive this by email, a friend had the quote on his site and I like the oblique/black humour. I'm also not sure if my friend would be impressed if I linked to his site, thus the duplication. (I now have permission to link to the site in question and there is a link on the 'links and resources' page of this site.

"Here we see a piece of useful advice: Everyone loves a happy baby. It's shameful to use such a dirty trick, but I didn't let my shame prevent me from using it three times at that conference. Hey, it's a dog-eat-dog world out there and if I can make more money by exploiting innocent babies, I will." Is it right that our Prime Minister, John Howard (at the direction of his master) let Iraq off from repaying the moneys that Australia is owed for wheat? If he had not, the Iraqis would not be able to pay the $68,000,000.00 they have to pay US and British multinational companies. Is this why we illegally invaded Iraq and support the illegal treatment of anyone who opposes the US or complains about its behaviour?

a thought for the weekend

Rene Descartes walks into a bar and orders a drink. The bar-tender serves him a beer. When he's finished the bartender asks, "Monsieur Descartes, would you like another?"

Descartes answers, "No, I think not." At which point he abruptly disappears.

Australia's National Anthem as of 10 October 2004

Australians all let us rejoice,
For we have tasted greed;
Our interest rates mean more to us,
Than mere humanity;
Our land abounds with credit cards
And John Howard took us there;
Don't stop to count as your debts mount,
Advance Australia fair!

Don't stop to count as your debts mount,
"Advance Australia fair!"

While refugees from terror sail'd,
To trace wide oceans o'er,
To Iraq with Little John we went,
To start a bloody war.
The sick, the old have all been sold,
Our children's future care;
They're all worth nowt, so rise and shout,
Advance Australia fair!
They're all worth nowt, so rise and shout,
"Advance Australia fair!"

one that slipped through the net...

black humour: poster

I *hate* getting sent files and full articles when I can simply be sent a URL instead - unless of course, the resource is not obviously available on the 'net... URL's (that's web addresses for people who don't know) are easier to share and don't screw with bandwidth (without your permission)... anyway, I really liked this one, so I'm letting it though and on to my 'friendly spam' list.

For the record, I did a search and while I could not see this poster, I saw some of the others I received in the same email (mostly which I thought were a bit dumb) at http://www.somethingawful.com/goldmine/
