Invitation to submit to in(s)ane mutterings

I've emailed an invitation to a number of folks inviting them to publish content directly to the 'in(s)ane mutterings' section of grudknows.com using a blogger account (when you receive your invitation, follow steps in the email/this posting to begin process - you can cancel before accepting if you desire).

If you haven't already been invited - but would like to contribute - contact grudknows and let grud know what email address you would like to post to the in(s)ane mutterings blog from so that an email invitation can be sent to you.

The "rules" for publishing on 'in(s)ane mutterings' are the writing must be yours (or you must have permission from the person to post on their behalf) - other than that, it's pretty open - can be an opinion, a thought, an experience, a story, a guide, advice, an idea... it can be short, medium or long. Check out what is already under the 'in(s)ane mutterings' section of the site and you'll get a pretty good idea of what is appropriate and what's not. If in doubt, feel free to ask me.

Feel free to write as much and as often as you like.

In blogger, you can write your content using either compose (an editor with a toolbar similar to many office wordprocessing programs that means you won't need to use or know any HTML) - or you can use the edit html. If you want to use compose, make sure you select the compose tab at the top of the post content box before you begin your posting - if you start with edit html and then swap to compose your line breaks and paragraphs may not be picked up/created and when you publish your post all of your text may be stuck together in one clump.

Please do not add jokes, humour and articles that you've been sent via email (or other means) to the 'in(s)ane mutterings' section of the site - sent them to me by email (I prefer URL's to file attachments but if you don't have a URL then that's ok) and I'll [probably, possibly, maybe] put links to them on the friendly spam section of the site where they belong. If they are articles or jokes you have created yourself, that's a whole different matter - feel free to post any original materials.

The 'off ya butt' section of grudknows.com is also now in blog format - so if you have burning issues you think people should get off their butts and do something about, lemme know and I'll send you an invite to publish to that section of the site as well - or I can put something up on your behalf.

You can, of course, still send materials that you want to appear on the grudknows.com website through to me (see contact details on the grudknows.com website) and I can either code them up or publish them to the blog on your behalf - but if you want to you can add your own content, directly to grudknows.com then the blog is the way to go.

I'm happy for you to publish under one or more identities - whatever you like.

What to do when you receive your email invitation

Step 1

I suggest that if you already have a blogger account and you've saved your details that you LOG OUT of blogger before going any further (this will give you more options about what identity you wish to use on grudknows.com (NOTE: if you want several identities, just ask me to send you another invitation so you can join under another identity (blogger account) as well).

Step 2

Click on link in this email ("1. Please follow the link below. If you do not follow this link, you will not be able to logon to the correct blog.") if you wish to directly contribute to this section of grudknows.com.

Step 3

You will be asked to either 'sign in' to an existing blogger account - which means that you will be a contributor using the same name you use for your existing blog

OR

You will be able to 'create an account' - you should do this if you want to publish under another identity or if you don't already have a Blogger account and want to contribute to this blog directly. When you create an account you can it up with whatever username (identity) and email you like (providing it's available)

OR

If you were already logged into blogger (user details saved and you didn't logout first) you'll be asked to accept or decline. If you accept you will be publising under blogger using your *current*/existing blogger identity.

Other Guff

Content you publish via blogger, will appear under the 'in(s)ane mutterings' section of the grudknows.com website in 'in(s)ane mutterings - the blog', this is a subsection of the 'in(s)ane mutterings' section of the site. The content is no different in nature to the rest of the 'in(s)ane mutterings' section, the blog is simply to make it possible for people to publish directly to grudknows.com without waiting for me to put your stuff up for you.

Using blogger, you can work on your content over time by saving it as a draft, it won't appear on the site until you select PUBLISH. And, even then, if you want to change something, just go back and edit it and then publish again and it'll be updated on the site.
