Same party... different location
The annual Triple J Hottest 100 and Australia Day BBQ is on again... the host of the last few years has moved to da 'burbs so you'll need to pack water for the journey out there but I'm sure it'll be worth your bother. For those of you who've had Facebook invites from almost everyone you know and have finally given up and joined (yes, there are a number of us) - there's a group you can join and an event you can add to your list.
Whether you are coming or not... don't forget to put in your vote for Triple J's Hottest 100.

Goodbye Oscar
Today I had to sadly goodbye to my bunny Oscar - he got sick and while initially there was some hope, he got worse and I had to take him back to the vet to have him put down and out of his pain and misery. He had a reasonably good bunny innings and managed to terrorise more than one cat, spend most days outside roaming the garden and was really only locked in a hutch when I moved house or if he was bad. He coped with kids and adults chasing him (mostly outrunning them) and was sometimes companion, sometimes nemisis and sometimes defender of my cat Neo. I'm not sure if Neo has noticed the bunnies absence yet but he does seem a bit puzzled as to where the rabbit is and I think he might know... feline mourning isn't a pretty thing to watch so I'm going to hope he doesn't click for a few hours yet.

Music to our ears
"Tired of the entertainment industry treating you like a criminal for wanting to share music and movies online? We are too -- EFF is fighting for a constructive solution that gets artists paid while making file sharing legal." [more]
17th Annual Strathalbyn Duck Race Not to be confused with the annual Running Of The Ducks, where each year crowds of people run through the streets screaming whilst being chased by hordes of killer ducks. Then again, that's not really an organised 'fun' event as such, it just happens. Anon.
